Business travel can become a vast cost if left unchecked in a company. With business travellers becoming used to certain airlines and often to change providers due to accumulating ‘their’ airmiles makes this cost centre a highly contentious one.
If your company does not currently have a travel policy then now is the time to get one. Also investigate the other benefits available to the company rather than the individual traveller, many airlines offer discounted prices if you use a certain pattern of flights, known as route deals. These may be available even if you don’t consider your employees frequent flyers!
If you already have a travel policy in place or use a business travel agency for your travel requirements then ask yourself when was the last time you audited their work and ensured your travel policy was being adhered to and the best flight prices being obtained?
